We were invited to attend the wedding of some dear friends of ours Faith Nilsen and Enrique Carrillo. They had been going together for a long time and I knew them both from work and have known them for the better part of 10 years. We were very happy for them both that they found each other. Faith decided to have the wedding on New Year's Eve, so that would add to the festive nature of the part. Additionally, we got a chance to hook up with another set of long time friends (that also knew the bride) and we went out on the town to see a belly dancer that was a work aquaintence of Kathleen. The photos below are what we saw.

Jim Shea.

Michele Shea and I worked together at HNC. She is still there today despite the fact that HNC had been acquired by Fair Isaac and Co.

Belly dancer Dilek showing her stuff.

Jeff Dean, on the right, greatly enjoyed the show and was busy stuff Dilek's costume with dollar bills. Note the smile on his face.

Faith chose a park on the cliff in Del Mar, CA for the wedding. Only in SoCal can you do an outdoor wedding on New Year's Eve. This overlooks where we had brunch a few days prior.

A view of the surfers. Only in SoCal could you have a wedding with a view of surfers!!

Here comes the bride escorted by her father Steve.

Getting ready to do the deed. Enrique is on the right. Sadly, due to the seating arrangements, we were looking into the sun resulting in very funky photos.

The vows. Daughters Skyler on the left and Giselle on the right.

The final act. Despite the sun, this turned out to be an interesting photo with the solar halo around Faith's head.

Check out those smiles.

A very happy couple.

We were happy for them too. Every outdoor activity in SoCal requires a hat (at least for a bald dude like me).

The Joneses: Diana (left) and Kathleen (not related).

Jim and Michele. They kindly agreed to drive us around since I did not have a car. This was good since by about midnight I would not have been fit for that task. Faith held the reception at their new house in Del Mar and we had a great time.

A funky self-portrait with Kathleen's new G7 camera.

A parting shot: an old, drunk, bald guy with a beautiful bride.
We had a great time on this trip. We were very, very happy for Faith and Enrique. They are both great people. It was good to see our friends again. We miss them when we are not there.
